Week 3 - Assignment: Research of Time or Place

The next major project that we were going to do was regarding a specific place or time.

We were to take a particular item that represents that time or place.

Given that I will be going to Cabo in a month (yes be jealous), I decided to take this as an opportunity to get to know my destination better.

And what particular item best represents Cabo?

Of course it's the margarita.

One of my favorite things about a margarita is its distinctive glass. Sure it can come in other glasses. But only margaritas go in this shape of glass.

Cabo (aka Cabo San Lucas) is located on the Southern tip of Baja California, Mexico.

Here's the peninsula section of Mexico that's directly under California.

Cabo San Lucas is located at the very tip.

When the Europeans first arrived in this location, they encountered the Pericu people.

These people were primarily were hunters and gatherers, eating seeds, roots, and shellfish.

The industrialization of this area picked up when an American company settled here to catch a bunch of tuna.

In 1974, the Mexican government prompted to turn this area into a prominent tourism location. And ever since the area has been booming with hotel and timeshares.

Ummm that's about it.

Now I have to draw a margarita 20 times. :)
